.htaccess file was deleted, how can I resolve this?
We built a magento site for a customer, and they hired an ‘SEO’ guy to do some work. Reluctantly we gave them FTP access, and they’ve now deleted their .htaccess file (the one in the root). Obviously without it, magento isnt functioning very well. Is there a way to rebuild it?
There is a .htaccess.sample file in root directory if it was not deleted. If there is you can rename it to .htaccess and modify it for your needs. You could also download the magento pack and just copy the .htaccess to your root. If it was a custom .htaccess that was deleted you will just have to edit it again and make a backup copy
