only reinstall certain segments of db on fresh install
I am working in a dev environment and want to move live
I am wanting to import the following data into an existing database, without overwriting certain theme/SEO changes made in other DB fields
- Product Categories
- Order History
- CMS pages
Things I don’t want to affect are header image / alt text, title data, site meta data
As for products, customers, etc you could do CSV export/import. However, some of the other things I guess you would have to manually export from the database. It is not straightforward because of all the key relationships, but with a good knowledge of SQL it should be possible.
I think I am going to export both SQL databases to file, and copy over the data I want to keep to the old database file, and import that one with the limited data I want to keep from the new one copied in
