Hello,
I install magento 1.0 on xamp (localhost) with No sample data.
when I click on ‘My Cart’ , I takes 20 seconds to load the page (I’m using stop watch to count the clock)
but at magento demo store, when I click on ‘My Cart’, It takes only 5 seconds.
What is the cause of big difference of speed, isn’t Xamp (localhost) supposed to have better speed ?

I’d imagine the Magento demo server is running APC and has a well optimised MySQL/InnoDB configuration. I’ve never used XAMPP but I doubt it’s particularly well optimised out of the box.

There’s a thread on here that explains very well how to optimise your mysql configuration, and installing APC will speed things up dramatically.
