hi
does anyone know how to assign tax on shipping cost?
we are using fixed fee shipping and no tax is being assigned at checkout time to the shipping amount (working ok for products).
can’t find the setting anywhere
thanks

Go to Admin > System > Configuration > Sales > Tax Calculation and select the appropriate Tax Class for shipping

Thanks for your answer, but I have selected it. Have tried different Tax classes but none works! Even the class wich works correctly for products isn’t working with shipping!

what are the shipping methods that you are trying to use?
@golles, you mentioned that you are using free shipping, so shipping cost is $0. On what amount do you expect Tax to be calculated on?

Strom”beer ”
gg, i would also prefer a beer now
I have a tax class called “mehrwertsteuer” with 19% rate. it works fine for products. but when i set system->configuration->sales to this class it doesn’t work. i also created a new class with own rules etc. but it won’t work either.
Maybe it would be easier if i send you login data per p.m.!?

@Stromberg,
Are you using Flat Rate shipping?
There is a problem at the moment with Tax calculation on the Flat Rate shipping.

for now you can just include your Tax in the shipping cost
And maybe present to the customer the Shipping after the Tax field in the subtotals
