Hi,

Does anyone have any sites that are running with 20K - 50K SKU’s? Or do you have a test system with this many allready setup. I am ideally looking for a working site in order to provide a demo before building a site of this size,

Hello David,
We don’t have a production site up as yet, but I can say that the most that we have successfully tested on was 7,000+ simple skus with multiple attributes used in layered nav and product pages. The front-end seems to run fairly smoothly without many hang-ups. I will say though that we all but had to abandon backend product management for products and attributes, which is why the production version is not up yet. Initially we had considered dataflow for most of the management, but are not impressed with speeds the there either. I should mention that we are running multiple websites/webstores off of this installation - 15 and 15 to be exact. To get up and running we have had to manipulate the database directly. So, while I don’t have a demo up yet, from our experience, the frontend can more than accommodate the skus but backend manipulation has been the issue.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the feedback. We would be looking to do custom back end development in order to manage products specifically. Are you able to let me know what the issues where with management on the beta version you tried?

Was this the multiple database situation? Did you plan to use an external cat management program?
