So far, I haven’t found any kind of email form in the Magento store for customers to be able to contact the store administrators with feedback, questions, or even to report bugs in the store.
I could be missing something, but it’s kind of surprising if the Magento platform doesn’t include even a basic contact form.
Is this being planned for a later version?
Or has anyone started to develop a module for this?
Have not fully implemented it yet, but am working on the following as a possibility.
1. Create a folder for holding any server-side form handling routines you write.
2. Create the contact form using the CMS.
include javascript for checking the form
Use <form action=’/forms/myformhandler.php’>
3. Create fail and success pages in the CMS. Then use header("Location: $baseurl/$outcome") to display the appropriate page.
The downside is that this still does not allow for proper server-side feedback for erroneous input. All you can do is tell the person the form needs to be redone. But at least there is a form that will work, I think.
It would be very useful if there were some way to include php code in the templates created in the CMS.
