I think that Magento 1.0 is still a bit slow (of course, it is much better than before), as you can test at :

do you think that next versions will be a bit faster ?

Thank you for that great job !

I think that depends a lot on your hosting provider.

Your page loaded pretty fast for me though.  Almost instant.

@atlantide… a good 5-8 seconds for me… then again, it takes ~4 -6 seconds right now on my 1and1 shared hosting install.

From Australia, it took around 30 seconds + to load. I thought I’d run into a site that wouldn’t load. But maybe thats always the case with loading site from France here?

Thank you for your answers. I think that this will be too slow on my shared hosting for using it with real customers. 5 - 8 seconds to load Home page. That’s not really fast, but acceptable. The slowest page is My cart, which thakes more than 15 secondes to load. This one will daunt the customers…

I am looking at the prices for a dedicated hosting (is that the English term when we are the only one user of the server ?), does anyone have an idea about the configuration from the magentocommerce.com server, to have a reference ? There are so much different servers performance that I don’t really know which one would be fast enough for me.

Thanks a lot

I want to know the answer to that question also. I noticed that the demo is considerably faster than my store. What can we do to further enhance the performance?
