Help adding image to Homepage

Hi everyone,

I am trying to add an image to the one column homepage that I have set up currently. My method so far has been to upload the image file to skin/frontend/default/blank/images.

I have then added the text

<h1>Purple Technology Store</h1>
<
p>Mobile Lifestyle Specialists</p>
<
img src="{{skin url=’images/homepage_image2.png}}” />

Into the content block of my homepage content block. Is there any reason why the image isn’t showing here. The magento setup was not a clean install and was installed with sample content, will this effect it?

Many thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have made a difference I have still ended up with just the header and text with no image as can be seen at:

my homepage

Am I definitely putting everything in the right place, the image as I said is in skin/frontend/default/blank/images and I am putting the code into the homepage content block under the cms manage pages section? My cache is most definitely disabled and I have cleared my internet cache as well.

Does anyone know why this isn’t working?

Thanks

This is the full link of your broken image:

http://www.purple-technology.com/skin/frontend/default/default/&#xE2&#x80&#x99images/homepage_image2.png&#x27;&#xE2;&#x80;&#x9D;%20/&#x3E;&#x3C;/div&#x3E;%20&#x3C;/div&#x3E;%20&#x3C;/div&#x3E;%20&#x3C;div%20class=

It clearly indicates that the mage is in the ‘default’ folder and that there are strange entities, maybe cause by UTF8 conversion or something else.

Advice: Get Firefox, get developer tool, learn to use the developer tool for diagnostic purpose.

Hi Chinesedream,

Thanks for your reply, I am not sure how I can really go about fixing that is it confused possibly because of sample data that was loaded but then just manually deleted by me? Do you know of anyway to fix this problem?

Many thanks

from your source code:

Logo path is correct:
http://www.purple-technology.com/skin/frontend/default/blank/images/logo.gif

homepage image path is not - why is that ‘public_html:
<img src="http://www.purple-technology.com/public_html/skin/frontend/default/blank/images/homepage_image2.png” />
