I enabled Google Sitemap and Currency Rates schedule, I want they to update automatically, I installed the cron successfully, the job_code of database table cron_schedule only has “newsletter_send_all”, “catalogindex_run_queued” and “every_10_minutes”, I want to update Google sitemap and currency rates automatically, how do I do?

MY cron Job is workling correctly! I checked the DB for the Table cron_schedule, but no sitemap entry…

I did exactly all Steps in this PDF: How to configure Google Sitemap

Can anyone help me or give me more instructions?

Mine works perfectly. I had issues before. If you notice in the config.xml file in the sitemap module folder, the cron job instructions are missing. I just copied the instructions from the ProuductAlert config.xml and pasted it in the Sitemap config.xml and now my sitemap cron jobs work.

Can you be a bit more precise ?

at the bottom of my config.xml I have :

<crontab>
        <
jobs>
             <
sitemap_generate>
                <
schedule><cron_expr>0 1 * * *</cron_expr></schedule>
                <
run>
                    <
model>sitemap/observer::scheduledGenerateSitemaps</model>
                </
run>
            </
sitemap_generate>
        </
jobs>
    </
crontab>

and it doesn’t seems to be enough

I’ve managed to successfully configured sitemap to run via cron. You have to manually edit the config.xml file cause the admin settings don’t do squat. Also you have to change the “0” to a “1” in the <enable></enable> tags. Here’s my code starting around line 127:

<default>
        <
sitemap>
            <
page>
                <
priority>1.0</priority>
                <
changefreq>daily</changefreq>
            </
page>
            <
category>
                <
priority>1.0</priority>
                <
changefreq>daily</changefreq>
            </
category>
            <
product>
                <
priority>1.0</priority>
                <
changefreq>daily</changefreq>
            </
product>
            <
generate>
                <
enabled>1</enabled>
                <
error_email><![CDATA[]]></error_email>
                <
error_email_template>sitemap_generate_error_email_template</error_email_template>
                <
error_email_identity>general</error_email_identity>
            </
generate>
        </
sitemap>
    </default>
    <
crontab>
        <
jobs>
            <
sitemap_generate>
            <
schedule><cron_expr>0 0 * * * </cron_expr></schedule>
                <
run>
                    <
model>sitemap/observer::scheduledGenerateSitemaps</model>
                </
run>
            </
sitemap_generate>
        </
jobs>
    </
crontab>

hope this helps you guys

Red Mouse Computers - Is it possible you could post your complete config.xml file?

I think this snippet while useful to some, is a mildly confusing to me as I am uncertain where this fits in the file as a whole. If you have Magento 1.4 version that would be even better!! .. wink
