I’m having the same problems.

Do you know if MediaLayer has 1-click install for Magento or can they install it for me?

I’d like to apologize again for the SQL error. We’re still working with the Magento developers who are actively looking into this issue. Although the MySQL system requirements don’t exactly match up, both teams came to the conclusion that this wasn’t going to be a issue. The tests we ran with other versions of Magento didn’t reveal this error. Either something changed in a newer release or our testing process just never triggered it.

While we’re working on fixing this issue on the (gs) Grid-Service please consider trying Magento on our (dv) Dedicated-Virtual Servers. The install process is just as easy. You can grab the APS packaged version of Magento here. Just upload the APS package using he Plesk Application vault on your (dv) server you’ll be able to install multiple copies of Magento in a few clicks.

APS Packaged

I’m using helpinghandhost.com for web hosting and they installed everything for me - still a beginner at this. I’ve been receiving the same error:

SQLSTATE[21000]: Cardinality violation: 1241 Operand should contain 1 column(s)

when I either modify or add attributes. But when I go back to the “Manage Attributes” page, my additions/modifications show. I’m confused. Can someone explain this to me?

We change our php setting to 5.2.6 and the install was fine. There have been a few errors, but they only occurred on the front end. The latest one that did occur in the admin (which I inquired with MT about) was:

SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away

Media Temple suggested upgrading to a container. Other than that, I didn’t have any problems with adding products or attributes (or any other issues that I read in this post), the only thing I notice is that ADD TO CART or CHECKOUT seem to load SLOWLY.  Any thoughts or suggestions?
