apply shopping cart rule based on grand total rather than subtotal?

hi,

We want to offer our customers a free pair of sunglasses if they spend £30 or more. The problem is our shopping cart rule seems to only work on the sub total amount rather than the grand total amount. The subtotal is exclusive of VAT (UK sales tax) but we want the £30 qualifying value to be based on the grand total value.

Any ideas how we fix this? Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.

Graham

Hi

Just to clarify something, the problem seems to be that we have different tax classes on products. Some products are zero rated for VAT (children’s clothing etc), but others like toys have the standard 15% VAT applied.  At the moment, if someone purchases all zero rated items, they can get the free sunglasses once they hit £26.08 order value.
(26.08 x 1.15 = 30).  It’s a strange anomaly and we can’t figure a way around it.

We’d much appreciate any help or suggestions.

Cheers...Graham
