Create Wildcard Search Terms

Hi.

In the admin section, under catalog, we have the ability to edit search terms, where they redirect, etc.
However ... if you edit a term ... lets say I want anyone that searches “hello” to go to http://www.hello.com
So I create the search term “hello” and give it a redirect.

However, if someone searches “Hello world”, then it won’t redirect because it only looks for the exact search term.
Is there a way to create a wildcard search term? I have already tried &#xhe;llo% and *hello* ... and neither of the two work.

I’d really appreciate an answer ASAP.

Thanks

Itai

Hi, there are some mods at the magento connect. As far as I remember, at least one of them allows to add synonyms for the search terms.

Extensions: Abandoned Carts Alerts, Gift Registry, Delivery Date, Custom Order Number, SEE ALL ...

Hi.

I can do synonyms in the admin, however I mean I want to create a wildcard term. Similar to how forums remove swear words even if they have other words attached, because they use wild cards.

Regards

Itai

If anyone else can help ASAP.
For example on my site I have the “Coolermaster Storm Scout”
someone search “cm storm” so I created that as a synonym for “Coolermaster Storm” ... but if someone types “cm storm scout” it won’t work because it is not a wild card term.

There has to be a way to do it.

Can anyone help.
Possibly someone can help add a provision into the code to create a wild card character or term? This is important if you want your store search functionality to work better.

Seconded… I need to search across more than one ‘shop’, and if wildcards were possible, this could be a workaround for this functionality
