Hey all,

Firstly I appologize if this is in the wrong section - it seems the most appropriate.

I am new to Magento, although I am a fulltime web design and developer - I thought when my client requested the use of Magento as their backend of choice I wouldn’t have a problem working with it.

Basically, I am having a real problem understanding and getting to grips with turning the design, into the actual Magento theme - it seems different process than ive ever had to do before. I’ve read plenty of documentation, and also tutorials online to try and get to grips - but the learning curve seems steep - and my deadline is running closer.

I’ve installed the `blank` template as it seems to be a good groundwork to start from - but everything I am doing either isn’t the right method, or takes me a few hours to research and learn. I have the design all fully marked up in XHTML/CSS - but I don’t think it was worth my time doing that - as it doesn’t easily translate into the template/theme system of Magento!

I am posting on here, for either

1) Get some more detailed advice and help on doing the above (someone I could IM would be great) or;

2) If there’s a developer out there that can do this for me, id be happy to pay for this service too if it’s reasonable.

Magento does seem like a far more professional ecommerce platform than others ive experienced in the past, although the template/theme system im finding extremely different than ive ever worked with.

Many thanks,

Joe
