I am having an issue creating bundle products and keeping stock.

We sell video surveillance DVR recorders. They consist of the DVR and a regular computer hard drive. We need to keep stock of the DVRs and the Hard Drives.

We will be selling 3 separate products based off these two:

1. Hard Drive (simple product)
2. Digital Video Recorder (simple product)
3. Digital Video Recorder with Hard Drive pre-installed (bundle product)

Our DVRs only allow the installation of one hard drive so we only sell the bundle product in 1 configuration (1 dvr and 1 hard drive), although a bundle product allows the custom to enter a quantity or each item included in the bundle.

Is there any way to create a bundle product any hide any options from customers? I want it to be a bundle product and keep stock of each item included but appear as a single product to the customer.

I’ve been working on this same issue. The best solution I’ve come across is in this thread by hive.net.au.  Though it’s not ideal since you have to create a separate option for each item which makes the products listed longer than necessary because each option has a name or title. Still testing the bundle type but I think there needs to be another Input Type or an additional feature in the options to turn off the display of the input type, maybe something like a Fixed or Locked input type.
