Hi All,

I have set up left hand vertical navigation, but the left callout sits under part of it. Does nayone know how I can push the callout further down the left column so it doesn’t collide with the menu?

The attachment shows what has happened.

Cheers

@int2k,

Thanx for the tip, but I’m none to flash with this stuff, I’m assuming it would be in the css somewhere but after tinkering around I can’t make any difference, could you give a bit more detail for me.

my catalog.xml has

<reference name="left">
<block type="catalog/navigation" before="-" name="catalog.vertnav" template="catalog/navigation/vert_nav.phtml" />
</reference>

I was hoping the before"-" would do it but no joy.

Thanx
Simo

it should not concern the xml layout
you could add this html code on the vert_nav.phtml, just before the last div

<div style="clear:left"></div>

@int2k, sorry on the delayed response, I’ve been away. Thanx for helping.

It looks like other things on the screen are only ‘seeing’ the first category button, everything I add seems to sit under at the bottom of the first one rather than the last one. The category menu is contained in a <div> with a background image and even it only ‘sees’ the first category so it doesn’t fill in behind the rest of the category display.

The vert_nav code is :

<div style="background-image:url(’http://www.globalproductfocus.com.au/images/callouttop.gif’);width:195px;margin:0px;">
<h3 style="margin-left:10px; margin-top:10px;">Shop For :</h3>
</div>
<div style="background-image:url(’http://www.globalproductfocus.com.au/images/calloutmiddle.gif’);width:195px;margin:0px;
<div class="vertical-nav-container">
<div class="head">
<div class="vertical-nav" style="margin-top:0px;">
<h4 class="no-display" style="margin-top:0px;"><?php echo $this->__('Category Navigation:') ?></h4>
<ul id="nav_vert">
<?php foreach ($this->getStoreCategories() as $_category): ?>
<?php echo $this->drawItem($_category) ?>
<?php endforeach ?>
</ul>
</div>
<?php echo $this->getChildHtml('topLeftLinks') ?>
</div>
<div style="background-image:url(’http://www.globalproductfocus.com.au/images/calloutbottom.gif’);width:195px;margin:0px;">
<br>
</div>
</div>

I’ve attached another screen shot, it shows a bit better how everything is stacking under the first category ‘button’ only rather than the last one.

Thanx for looking

Simo

N33D; what solution worked for you. I have just started using magento, and it all looks nice and shiny, but damn, it’s hard to get things done.

I did the whole thing what “dan_w” said in his post on the first page.
But i passed step 3 and did what he said on the next post.

Hope this will help you?

Q: And people, how can i change the positions of the items on the left column? I want the categorie list on the TOP!

Guys,

I want to have a MAINMAV on the top of my shop that only shows de first level (i allready have this one)
Now on the left side i want to show the second category if there is clicked on the first level.  (like the attachment)

So if someone clicks on the first level on the top.
The submenu of that submenu must show on the left side.
Like: wehkamp.nl. (mainmav on top, subnav on the left)

Thanks for any help!
Looking for ages for the solution.. (forum/wiki/etc)
