I pretty much tried to edit everything I can just to see how flexible it is.. and it really is something else. You can do alot with this baby. Excuse the demo.. I used a design I did for a client a while back so it may be a little rough around the edges (some css conflicts, etc.) It’s just to get an idea of what you can do to customize Magento. Even with a pre-existing design.
I Templated everything from the OnePage Checkout to the Account Dashboard.. Go ahead and register and login to check that out. I’ll keep it up for awhile.. then I’ll remove it and put up another skin. I’m working on a new one now.. (its a bit cleaner)
Magento is so friggin Suuuuuuuh-weet. (Thats how u gotta say it).
Thanks McKooter, I look forward to seeing everyones customizations. It’s amazing what you can do with just the css and templates, right? I want to get into picking apart the code a bit too, I understand some of it.. but I think thats the next step.. being able to possibly create your own hooks and controllers. Might need Moshe’s help in that area though..
Thanks Roy, I’m really starting to learn the templating structure, you guys did a great job. Boxes.css is like 934837 lines long… but at least it’s all in one place. -=)
No honestly, I’m having a ball with this thing. Just a note everyone, I’ll be using this demo to test experimental and custom code so if you see something strange or visit it and it’s just dead broke… its prolly because I’m screwing around with stuff.
I’ll be updating it a lot with new templates, and possibly start to create some themes, although I’m not sure if it’s too early to start doing that since the code may change up as we become more stable.
Good job on your theme! I have been having a ball with the template structure, I don’t like the length of boxes.css either, but yes, I don’t have to hunt through tons of files to find what I’m looking for so that is nice.
