Just an FYI - had this module installed and seemed to work fine. However the additional field that it adds to the catalogsearch_fulltext breaks the ability to refresh search index and it also breaks the ability to import products and save/duplicate/create new products.

I’ve installed this set Weight of prioritized attributes to 50 and selected Name.

However when I search for “test” there is a product called “internal test” it still dosnt come up on the first page.

What can I be doing wrong..?

Certainly not stable if it stops you being able to add / update prodcuts!!

SQLSTATE[21S01]: Insert value list does not match column list: 1136 Column count doesn’t match value count at row 1

Unsurprisingly not much better after trying to uninstall:

Warning: Varien_Autoload::include(Systime/Search/Model/Mysql4/Fulltext.php) [varien-autoload.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/sites/o/onesecurity.co.uk/public_html/lib/Varien/Autoload.php on line 93

Dan, did you work out how to fix your site?

Kind regards

Rich

So you need to:

Drop ‘systimesearch_data_index’ in ‘catalogsearch_fulltext’

I have just recently tested uninstalling the extension, and uninstalling indeed does produce all the reported problems - I’m sorry for the troubles this may have caused.

As Olof points out you have to manually remove the database field added by the extension:

ALTER TABLE `catalogsearch_fulltextDROP `systimesearch_data_index`;

Furthermore, in order to recreate the field when/if re-installing the extension, you also have to remove an entry from the table “core_resource”:

DELETE FROM `core_resourcewhere code 'systimesearch_setup';

AFAIK, Magento doesn’t (yet) support an uninstall hook that can be used for cleaning up custom fields and data in the database when an extension is uninstalled.

Best regards,
Mikkel

As brianb421 said, make sure you clear your cookies.  I struggled with incorrect sort order after installing this extension when searching by SKU.  Re-indexing and clearing the cache fixed the sorting 100%.

Mikkel Ricky (Systime), to reiterate brianb421’s opine, you really are a rock start!

can anyone update the extension to work with 1.4 please? They still have yet to improve the builtin search function. This extension is a godsend.

The extension was a quick’n’dirty fix that I made at work and it will (probably) never become compatible with Magento 1.4.

However, in my sparetime I’ve made a new and improved version that is compatible with both Magento 1.3 and 1.4. This new extension, now called MikkelRicky_CatalogSearch, is not available in Magento Connect yet, but I will try to publish it tonight.

Update: I’ve added MikkelRicky_CatalogSearch to Magento Connect, but apparently there are some problems with uploading files at the moment. Therefore, I’ve attached the extension to this post. The extension is compatible with Magento 1.4 only.
To install simply extract the archive in the root of a Magento installation and check the README file.

Best regards,
Mikkel Ricky
