Hi, I have created a very basic hello world module. It worked at first, but after making some adjustments in the admin panel, I get a 404 when I visit http://magentotest.local/helloworld. I don’t think Ive changed anything in the code which is as follows:

app/etc/modules/As_Helloworld.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<config>
    <
modules>
        <
As_Helloworld>
            <
active>true</active>
            <
codePool>local</codePool>
        </
As_Helloworld>
    </
modules>
</
config>

app/code/local/As/Helloworld/controllers/IndexController.php

class As_Helloworld_IndexController extends Mage_Core_Controller_Front_Action
{

public function indexAction() {

echo 'Hello Index!';

}
}

app/code/local/As/Helloworld/etc/config.xml

<config
    <
modules>
        <
As_Helloworld>
            <
version>0.1.0</version>
        </
As_Helloworld>
    </
modules>

    <
frontend>
        <
routers>
            <
helloworld>
                <use>
standard</use>
                <
args>
                    <
module>As_Helloworld</module>
                    <
frontName>helloworld</frontName>
                </
args>
            </
helloworld>
        </
routers>
    </
frontend>
</
config>

1 - is it possible to stop a module from behaving correctly by changing settings in the admin area?
2- Is there anything wrong with my code?
3- In a situation where I am getting a 404 message where do I start look to solve the problem?

Thankyou for your replies, but that article that you have both posted doesn\’t tell me anything new. The code on there and what I have posted are the same and it does not answer why the module would stop working after making some adjustments in the admin panel. Can either of you offer any advice regarding that issue?

Many thankyou

Hi,
To solve your problem related to the module into admin interface, first check that you have given the proper name of module. Names are case sensitive. Also perform indexing and caching from admin interface.

Hoe this will help you.
