Hi,

I installed 1.3.1 without a glitch and labored about upgrading it and alas, my fears have come to pass…

I installed the clean 1.3.1 originally into a custom folder called “mgadmin” and i dont know if this has anything to do with the upgrade failure. The frontend works well but when i login to the backend i get the dashboard only and no menu items are working. None. No pulldowns. Nada. Same in firefox and in IE8 with cleared cache etc.

I used magento connect to do the upgrade and it was flawless, no issues or warnings!!?? In the dashboard is says 1.3.2 at the bottom.

This has broken my confidence in upgrading and i’m sad to have to feel this way about such a wonderful upgrade platform.

Can anyone suggest how i may fix this debacle? Or do i have to restore backups :(

These are the many error details i get in IE8:

I had a similar experience this morning.  ymadmin instead of admin..  but I did not even get a login page, just a redirect back to the frontend.  I upgraded via ssh, and this was the first problem I have had also.

I did restore my backups because i do not have time to mess with it right now.  Just wanted to post a “you’re not alone”.

My admin broke upgrading from 1.3.1.1 to 1.3.2. The store front is fine, but when I go to the admin I get this message in my browser:

Redirect Loop
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request
for this address in a way that will never complete.
The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested itemThe site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

Any ideas?

Apparently deleting my cookies fixed it… weird!

Hi, I had this same issue, I did not remove the cookies. I did a complete reinstall and the problem went away.

Cheers

Ron

Hi,

Deleting the cookies fixed my redirect problem (i got this too) but the main problem remains: a non-functioning admin. Did you specify a directory other than the default “admin” during installation of 1.3.1?

I had the exact same thing. Cleared my browser cookies and it all works perfectly.

I had the same problem and I solved deleteing the browser’s cache Tools > Clear Private Data.
I hope it works for you too.

Good luck
