I have a new installation of a store that I am helping to create for someone. I am using Magento 1.7.0.2.

I have created categories, all with exactly the same settings, but some of them aren’t working after I import a CSV of products, but I can’t find any reasons why it’s not working. The error says:

--------------------------
There has been an error processing your request

Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.

Error log record number: 228984979720
--------------------------

The error log record number changes every time I refresh the page.

For reference, the store is at http://www.naturalflirtation.com.au/. How can I fix this?

HI,

Magento install error - Exception printing is disabled

Here is a known error which can occur when installing Magento:

There has been an error processing your request
Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.
Error log record number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Here is the solution:

1-Navigate to the \"errors\" folder.
2-Change local.xml.sample to local.xml
3-You should now see a new list of crazy errors all over the Magento page - this is okay.
4-Open magento/lib/Zend/Cache/Backend/File.php and look for:

protected $_options = array(
\'cache_dir\' => \'null\',

5-Change it to:

protected $_options = array(
\'cache_dir\' => \'tmp/\',

6-Save it.
7-Now the final step is to go create a tmp folder in the root Magento folder.
8-That\’s it.

Hope this will help you!!

Thanks

Monty

Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a go.

I have completed installation about 2 weeks ago, it was automatically installed using Simple Scripts in my web host’s cPanel. It only has this error in some categories but not other categories. All categories were working fine when there was no products in them, but now since I imported a CSV of all products, about half the categories have this issue and I can’t figure out why.

But I’ll give your suggestion a try and see if that helps.

It hasn’t worked, Monty22.

I already have Magento installed. Have a look at http://www.naturalflirtation.com.au for reference, and try going to one of the categories, maybe Candles for example - this one shows the error.

I have used a CSV file to import the product list but now there are products I have installed in the database, it is not possible to show the products in the category on the frontend.

Any suggestions how I can fix it? Still trying to figure it out but not getting anywhere.

And with version 1.8, this worked for me:

1-Open magento/lib/Zend/Cache/Backend/File.php and look for:

protected $_options = array(
‘cache_dir’ => null,
‘file_locking’ => true,
‘read_control’ => true,
‘read_control_type’ => ‘crc32’,
‘hashed_directory_level’ => 0,
‘hashed_directory_umask’ => 0700,
‘file_name_prefix’ => ‘zend_cache’,
‘cache_file_umask’ => 0600,
‘metadatas_array_max_size’ => 100
);

2-Change it to:

protected $_options = array(
‘cache_dir’ => ‘tmpcache/’,
‘file_locking’ => true,
‘read_control’ => true,
‘read_control_type’ => ‘crc32’,
‘hashed_directory_level’ => 0,
‘hashed_directory_umask’ => 0700,
‘file_name_prefix’ => ‘zend_cache’,
‘cache_file_umask’ => 0600,
‘metadatas_array_max_size’ => 100
);

3-Save it.
4-Now the final step is to go create a tmpcache folder in the root Magento folder.
5-That\’s it.

I think you have a problem with your “ROOT” category :

lib/Varien/Data/Tree/Dbp.php (line 331) :
$rootNodeId = $rootNode->getId();

Magento don’t found the “ROOT” category with the level “0” into categories table. Check into your table “catalog_category_entity” if you have a “ROOT” category :

SELECT * FROM catalog_category_entity WHERE level=0
