Hi,

I’m currently trying to integrate my module (which is working just fine in the frontend) into the backend, but I can’t get it to work. :-(

This is what my file structure looks like:
app/code/local/BrightSolutions/Reward/controllers/Adminhtml/IndexController.php

And this is my config.xml:

<config>
    <
modules>
        <
BrightSolutions_Reward>
            <
active>true</active>
            <
codePool>local</codePool>
            <
depends>
                <
Mage_Catalog />
                <
Mage_Sales />
            </
depends>
        </
BrightSolutions_Reward>
    </
modules>
    <
frontend>
        <
routers>
            <
reward>
                <use>
standard</use>
                <
args>
                    <
module>BrightSolutions_Reward</module>
                    <
frontName>reward</frontName>
                </
args>
            </
reward>
        </
routers>
        <
events/>
        <
translate/>
        <
layout/>
    </
frontend>
    <
admin>
        <
routers>
            <
reward>
                <use>
admin</use>
                <
args>
                    <
module>BrightSolutions_Reward</module>
                    <
frontName>reward</frontName>
                </
args>
            </
reward>
        </
routers>
    </
admin>
</
config>

I’ve been trying out different URLs(f.e. /admin/reward/index, /admin/reward_adminhtml/index) but it keeps redirecting me to the admin dashboard.

I’d be very thankful for any hint.

AFAIK you can’t use a direct url to access a module in the admin anymore (since 1.3 an autogenerated key is appended to the url for safety reasons).

I would simply add an menu entry for this module, then it should work fine. For details see part two of the wonderful tutorial here:

Good luck

Claudia

Okay, that makes sense.

I’ve been struggling with this for two days nows, I would never have guessed that it isn’t working because of an autogenerated key.

Thank you very much Claudia. cool smile
