Hi All, This is my first post. I have high hopes for Magento… I hope it can deliver the following… If so, how is it done:

I use AuthorizeNet to process the c/c transactions, and of course have a paypal merchant account to receive those kinds of payments.

The nature of my info products are such that it’s a forced choice:

The customer buys my intro audio seminar or they buy my Complete Library (3 audio seminars plus a forum archive database).

They can order these as downloads only or they can order the CD format in which case they also get access to the download versions (complete equivalents) for a quick start while waiting for the CD(s) to arrive.

This means they choose 1 of 4 options from my order page.

What I want then is for them to go straight to just ONE more screen where they confirm that yep they did order what they intended to, or oops they didn’t and can remove and hop back to the first screen to reselect and come back to the second screen.

Once they have confirmed that for sure they have selected what they intended, they either click a button to go out to paypal’s purchase sequence, or to pay by major credit cards they stay on this same second screen and give billing info and if download only click the complete order button and they’re done!

They go straight to downloading the program files.

If they want the CD(s) shipped, then on this same second screen they also complete shipping info to anywhere on the planet,

then see in realtime what their shipping costs will be among an eligible variety of methods (USPS FEDEX, UPS, ETC.),

choose their shipping method,

then provide their credit card info and click the complete order button,

the api sends their order to my fulfillment house,

and the customer still goes straight to the downloads area to access the complete program in download format if they want, for that quick start while waiting for the discs to arrive a little later.

TOTAL (when paying by credit card): Two screens only:

1. Choose product option
2. Verify choice and fix if necessary, then shell out to paypal sequence or stay on page provide billing, (and if CDs, shipping details and method choice), credit card choice and details, click the Complete Order button. BADA BING KA CHING.

And of course the processing needs to be PCI AND CISP compliant (and listed there by Visa).

So that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I need.

Plus the ability to handle wholesale orders, integrated affiliate program two-tier, quickbooks export, and brandable with my template.

How can Magento Magic help me get this done, please?

Looks like Authorize.Net and PayPal are both supported well.

I can see a lot of ways you can do this in 3 steps: display the item, add it to your shopping cart, checkout.
There is an “Order Review” at the end of the Checkout, but I’m not sure how you would bypass the cart and go directly to the checkout, or display them both on the same screen.

It looks like there is integration to get realtime rate quotes from the major carriers, but I haven’t personally tested this yet.

How does your order fulfilment house expect to get the order, via email, a web service, or something else?

I’m looking into affiliate options myself, and the quickbooks export. The brandable and template options with Magento look great though.

** One page shows 4 item photos plus descriptions and each has a load-cart-buy-link attached to it that loads that one item into the cart and goes to the cart page as well. That is, a single button click loads that one item in the cart AND goes to the display cart / order form page:

** Page Two Shows the editable cart summary at the top (with a REMOVE item button that then automatically returns back to Page 1 to reselect), and below this cart summary at the top is the form for entering all billing (and if applicable shipping) details.
At the bottom of this page is a Complete Order button that sends data to the credit card company and if approved, the deal is done and a receipt page is displayed.

**Thus, the transaction is completed in just two screens: 1: Select Item page, and 2: Cart display verify (top of page) + payment (and if applicable shipping) details just below that. Button at bottom of Page 2 processes payment and completes the sale.

**For an example of how this works you can view my current cart (which I want to quit for reasons I won’t get into here) at the following address. Please note this is an adult sexuality education website. There is no porn or dating or anything. I have an MA in Psychology and am a professional adult sexuaity educator. To view what I want to duplicate in Magento, (age 18 or over, only, please): please go to: http://www.multiples.com/orgasmorder/ and click on the green button that says: Order Intro Seminar - CD.

**This button is attached to a buy-link which loads the specific item and takes you to second and last screen of the purchase sequence.

** This functionality is what I want to replicate in Magento.

How does your order fulfilment house expect to get the order, via email, a web service, or something else?

**via API… i.e., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_programming_interface
That is, details of order are instantly transmitted to my fulfillment house and placed in their order queue. It is not via email. It is more secure than email.
