Hello,

Since I’m using Magento also for its normal CMS capabilities, I was wondering if a search engine for CMS pages was to be implemented soon. This would really be great, and I don’t think much developement is needed.
Ideally, the results would display like on magentocommerce.com, with tabs for “General pages” and “Products”.

For the moment, the only solution is to use a third party search engine, which is not very ergonomic and powerful.

This site uses Google Custom Search Engine. It is pretty powerful, and can probably be tailored to your needs, but it isn’t free. With that being said, i agree that there should at least be an option to include static pages in the site search. I haven’t found any way to enable that in the CP as of yet.

Have a look at our Advanced Search extension http://ecommerce.aheadworks.com/magento-extensions/advanced-search.html
We have tested it thoroughly and it shows great results. Check reviews of our customers that use it - they sound quite reliable.

In fact , Magentо search is not perfect. Very often a user doesn’t find what he was looking for and leaves the store. Good decision is to integrate the Sphinx search engine. It greatly improves the quality and relevance of search results. Look at: http://mirasvit.com/magento-extensions/sphinx-search-ultimate.html

We have done this with php inline with html, input is taken through html. I tried getting values for android app by making http requets. The entire php is removed from the file and making. Shoud the site be re-written again for easy base? I don’t to write business logic again and again. Consistency is also an issue.

Launching the website on a mobile which one is the best to go mobile app or mobile website.
