Declined Credit Card Transactions

Hi all.

Assuming I can get a working ProTX Payment Module at some point, we’ll be moving to Magento.

My question is this: would there be any possible way to still retain a customer’s order if (say) their credit card was declined 3 times?  Perhaps some sort of automatic notification to our team that could then call the customer and try to sort out their card problem?

Cheers.

Hi,

i think thats possible with following process…

Customer enter CC data and proceed order playcing, you ProTX paygate/paymentmodule checkes validation of cc data. You can count the attempts and after three trys you proceed the order placement and save the cc datas. you should set order to a special status to identify it in backend. So order is placed but without successful payment check. Than you can contact the cutomer. Maybe you can extend process by sending a mail after three faild checks to inform customer support.

Cheers

Stefan

Thanks for the reply.

That’s the way I envisaged it happening.  How do I add new statuses to the payments - I can only pick from ‘pending’?
