Paypal Standard & Shipping

I’m having an issues with Paypal Standard and shipping. I don’t know if I’ve got it set up wrong or if it’s some type of bug. I have Paypal standard set up with the following settings:

1. Payment Action: sale
2. Type: IPN
3. Transaction Type: Individual Item

When the order goes to the paypal page, instead of the shipping amount underneath the items, there is some strange text like this:
xxxBASE64_STARTxxxU2hpcHBpbmcgYW5kIEhhbmRsaW5nIChSb3lhb (I didn’t post the whole line because I don’t know if there is a security issue)

This only happens when using a flat rate shipping, but it’s shows normally with free shipping.

Does anyone know what might be the issue here?

Thanks!

Ok, I also noticed that this weird line of code shows as another item in paypal, not under shipping.

Please post the data which was posted to paypal so we can take a look at the issue.
You can get the post data by turning on Debug flag from admin and check in “paypal_api_debug” table.

Thanks, Lindy. Here is what it says in the row named request_body:

business=sales@british-bodybuilding.co.uk&return;=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/success/&cancel;_return=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/cancel/¬ify;_url=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/ipn/&invoice;=100000047¤cy;_code=GBP&address;_override=1&first;_name=Naomi&last;_name=Niles&address1;=address&address2;=&city;=city&state;=&country;=GB&zip;=37548&cmd;=_cart&upload;=1&item;_name_1=BSN Syntha 6&item;_number_1=bsn-synth-6-ban&quantity;_1=1&amount;_1=29.99&item;_name_2=Shipping and Handling (Royal Mail Special delivery (guaranteed delivery before 1pm insured up to £500) - Fixed)&quantity;_2=1&amount;_2=4.99

There is nothing in the response_body row.

Thanks!

There are extra semi colon “;” between name and value pair. example :

return;=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/success/

The correct should be

return=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/success/

The correct request should be:

business=sales@british-bodybuilding.co.uk&return;=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/success/&cancel;_return=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/cancel/¬ify;_url=http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/paypal/standard/ipn/&invoice;=100000047¤cy;_code=GBP&address;_override=1&first;_name=Naomi&last;_name=Niles&address1;=address&address2;=&city;=city&state;=&country;=GB&zip;=37548&cmd;=_cart&upload;=1&item;_name_1=BSN Syntha 6&item;_number_1=bsn-synth-6-ban&quantity;_1=1&amount;_1=29.99&item;_name_2=Shipping and Handling (Royal Mail Special delivery (guaranteed delivery before 1pm insured up to £500) - Fixed)&quantity;_2=1&amount;_2=4.99

Did you try the paypal standard on the latest release?

Sorry about the previous post. Actually “semi colon” comes from our forum.

Please ignore the previous post.

I checked the data and everything looked fine.

Could you please try on the latest release.

I tested with your account and everything worked fine.

Oh, thanks for looking at it Lindy. I’m sorry I missed this. I didn’t get the notification. We upgraded the site to 1.0 and are still having the same issue.

Thanks!
