I’m using Magento’s default theme, but with the blue skin.

I would like to completely remove the left navigation from every page so that it never appears again. Never.  This is the menu that says, “ Shop by” at the top and contains the categories in a layered menu. Attached is an image.

Is there anyone willing to help out a newbie? smile

Thank you

Thank you

First, make sure that your categories have “Is Anchor” set to No
Then open the .../app/design/frontend/yourdesign/yourtheme/layout/catalog.xml file and look for the following line

<block type="catalog/navigation" name="catalog.leftnav" after="currency" template="catalog/navigation/left.phtml"/>
Comment out (or remove) this line.

cool smile
