After I have made the Beta version installation - everything seems to have completed installing and have asked me to click on ok. I clicked it and at http://www.shooweb.net/magento/index.php/install/wizard/config/ it gives me a 500 Internal Server Error.

I am installing it on hostgator.

Website is : http://www.shooweb.net/magento/

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

There’s a problem with current PEAR packages that they overwrite index.php and .htaccess

If you have changed either of them please repeat the changes again.

Ok in that case you did not change them and the permissions could be a problem.

Using your FTP program set file access permissions for index.php to 755 (User: Read, Write, Execute; Group: Read, Execute; Other: Read, Execute)
