I’m interested in how you did your nav. bar.

I like the dropdown menu you have.

Awesome work man, best one yet me thinks, it’s got some character.
Who did the illustration work on the logo, I love that, doubt it was stock art?
The homepage doesn’t come up to bad on the validator either.

The * My Cart and * Checkout links in the header, orange on orange need a little more contrast probably.

The fruit fly on the about us page, lower left is one nasty critter, that one looks to be a real photo of some sort?
Love that too…

Looks like you are a member of the Purveyors of the Latin club also wink

Yeah there are a couple items that need to get done before we are ready for “launch” but the majority of stuff is done.

I had a graphic guy create a template for me and I have some decent photoshop skills and modified his template to replace default graphics in the current magento layout. As you may notice. I didn’t really “move” a lot of the pieces around. I mostly modified the CSS files and left the majority of the magento template files alone.

Good suggestion on the top links that are orange, they do blend to much into the back ground.

And we are located out of Southern California. (US)

Forget the design, as owner of a sugar glider I am very interested in getting rid of fruit flies. =P

hahah… Well if you live in the US, you can order from our current site; http://www.fruitflysolutions.com. But if you are outside the US, we will have international shipping setup once Magento matures a little bit.

But you can PM me specific questions.

Looks great, rvelton! Loved your header, it looks seamless with the customization you made with the magento core search.

One question:
How did you manage to layout your frontpage especially “FFS Specials and Discounts” area. I don’t think it is just a simple static html that was saved using the CMS block because when the Euro currency is selected, those products on the frontpage displayed the Euro sign with proper value conversion and again when I changed the currency to US Dollar, the currency sign changed and so do the value. The currency and it’s value looked dynamic.

Lastly, thank you for showcasing your site and let us learn from it.

P.S: I love the background image of this page : http://www.fruitflysolutionstest.com/about-us/ :D

Thank you for the comments.

Here is the thread that I followed to get products on the home page:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewreply/17999/

Let me know if you have any questions about implementing that modification.  I pretty much followed those exactly just with a few graphical modifications.

Thank you so much for pointing me to the right direction, I’ll give it a go and see how it goes before report back. smile

Update: it does work!! Once we have this, I think it would be rather easy to extend those products to have new arrival feature and most popular stuff. smile

How and where do you create your links in the nav bar, Home, Traps, Cleaners, etc.?  You have a reference to the styling in menu.css but need to know how to make links such as you have.

Any time you could give to answering this question would be most appreciated.

Hi,

did you integrate the shop with a backend solution (to manage the warehouse), or is everything managed by Magento?
