Magento

Prior to 1.3 upgrade I had my categories listed on the top navigation bar.  Now they are gone.  I went into category manager and made sure that “Is Anchor” was set, they returned for about 20 minutes, then disappeared.  The categories are displayed as a dropdown list from the Nav bar, but this is not my desired behavior.  I wold like all of the categories displayed across the Nav bar.  Any help would be appreciated.
