[SOLVED] Upgrading destroyed my shop catalogue

I am not happy.

The catalogue of shop that was destroyed is running on a test server, but it had some database entries and of course I would rather not waste my time trying to figure out what went wrong and redoing everything (this is the second Magento installation that nuked itself)

Actually I am so unhappy that I want to scream. Can you imagine this happening to a live store? However.

running

./pear upgrade-all stable
finished without errors. I then tried to log in to the admin side and saw that there is no catalogue.

I then also looked for the catalogue on the front end, and lo and behold, the shop was dead with an SQL error.

Looking at the SQL database it seems that the database is intact.

Admin --> System --> Cache Management --> All Cache --> Refresh

Admin --> System --> Cache Management --> All Cache --> Refresh

This does not solve the problem!

Apparently it solved vmajor’s problem grin

Assuming that your upgrade was 100% successful and cache is your issue, you can also try deleting the contents of magento/var/cache and ensure permissions are set correctly (755 folder, 644 files)

The same thing happened to me and clearing the cache brought back the store along with the dashboard that had disappeared after upgrade.

magento-core/Mage_All_Latest is already installed and is the same as the released version 1.3.1

the colum wasnt even created at eav_attribute table !!!!  if i creta another comming.... how fix it....

Okay, now I’m really frustrated.

I did the “magento-core/Mage_All_Latest’ install, to re-install it.

And now I can’t access my website at all, and don’t even get a Magento looking error!

Just a 500 internal server error.

Is it really this hard just to update to the latest software??

Someone please help!!

Okay managed to get rid of the internal server error.
But, after clearing the cache, the error still shows.

Strange thing is, I also get a 404 error when trying to navigate through the site… however the default urls ‘about-us’, ‘customer-service’, etc all seem to work fine.

Is there a way to turn off SEO for urls like you can in Joomla and just have the string query in the urls?

Me too :( I’ve been trying to fix my live shop for hours wink

I know I shouldn’t have done the upgrade in a live shop, but since my ISP wouldn’t give me an extra database within an hour, I decided to no longer wait (what would be the wurst that could happen… wink )

Did anyone already find a solution for this? as mentioned before in my case it also seems to be the 404 page causing it…

Yeah same issue here. I have been at this for days (non production server) and I just can’t get the upgrade to work! 1.3 works fine. 1.4 with a fresh database works fine too. But 1.3 to 1.4 just doesn’t work. I am doing all the install through shell, and using the front end to finish it and it just doesn’t like me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
