Do you have any suggestion how to name tables, so that they will not conflict with your tables you might come up with in the future?

Is it good to give them some kind of namespace aka a prefix?

Since 0.8.16100 you can give a prefix for Magento’s tables. So you can give a namespace to Magento’s native tables and if you never use this prefix, there will not be any conflict between your tables and Magento’s ones.
