Multiple Domain/Website Setup

Hello,

I recently downloaded and installed Magento on my dedicated server and was interested in employing the multiple domain functionality.  I cannot seem to get it to operate properly.

Here is what I have so far:

Two Websites

http://www.example1.com - code=example1
http://www.example2.com - code=example2

I set in configuration base urls as:

http://www.example1.com/magento/
http://www.example2.com/magento/

Respectively.

In http://www.example2.com(not my base installation domain) I have copied over the .htaccess file and index.php files and changed the index.php file to read Mage::run(’example2’);

Is this all that is required to have multiple stores running?  When I point my browser to http://www.example2.com/magento I only receive a blank webpage.

I noticed in .htaccess this notation:

############################################
## you can put here your magento root folder path relative to web root

#RewriteBase /magento/

Does this need to be modified perhaps? Does Magento need to be installed in root?

I would appreciate any help regarding this.  I’ve scoured the boards but most of the information relating to this subject I’ve found to be a bit cryptic.

Thanks in advance.
