Hi Jeremy, this may sounds obvious, but have you changed the email in “Send Emails To” field in the admin > configuration > contacts > email options?

The only time I couldn’t received contact form was because of this.

Actually I face the same issue. But for me, setting the contact email to a different domain email works. So for now, I have not bothered much about this. But am eager to know why this is so.

I tried with a Gmail account, and it works. I definitely doesn’t understand why !!!

I’ve read on other topics that have Magento and the mail server on the same server could be a problem, but it’s not the case.
In my case, they are not even hosted by the same company.

So finally, I don’t understand ... it works with a gmail account and a redirection !

Hi guys,

I am experiencing the same problem:

Sending emails to support@myhostedmagentodomain.com <= doesntwork
Sending emails to myemail@gmail.com <= works

I have eliminated that email template and sender doesnt affect it as whatever works fine if the target email address is gmail. Anyone with a solution please post here, much appreciated Thanks!

I also had the same problem .  Emails were sent when I used the Contact Us form in the footer but not when it was included within a cms page.  My solution was as follows:  Call the form from the cms page as follows:

<!– CONTACT FORM –>
{{block type=’core/template’ name=’contactForm’ template=’contacts/form.phtml’}}
<!– END OF CONTACT FORM –>
Note the use of single inverted commas when calling the form in the block. I could not get it to show at all with double inverted commas.

Find /contacts/form.phtml in your theme directory and change

<form action="<?php echo $this->getFormAction(); ?>” id="contactForm" method="post">

To

<form action="http://www.yourdomainname.com/contacts/index/post/" id="contactForm" method="post">

Worked for me.

Only thing I can think off is to look at the source code for your page and check if the action for the form does include your email address.  If not you may be using another form.phtml file (ie in a template directory).

I was referring to the HTML code of your page in your browser to see where it is trying to send the email.

The instruction to view the Page Source of a page is different for each browser.  In Firefox you can right click on the page and select View Page Source.

The inverted commas seem to be different if you are calling the form from within a CMS page or in the footer as in the Magento Installation.  No idea why.

Your form action is different from mine.  I have contacts not contact-us as in <form action="http://www.yourdomainname.com/contacts/index/post/" id="contactForm" method="post"> I would try to stick to this format and see how it goes.

Just a beginner myself so really don’t know how it all works.
