Would Changing the XHTML Structure Hinder Magento Features?

I’m curious to know if changing the XHTML layout like so:

From:

<div class="header-top-container><div class="header-top><tagsoup attribute="soup"> ... </tagsoup></div></div>

To:

<div id="header"> ... </div>

Would this render any Magento features ineffective? I know js is used quite a bit (maybe too much at the moment). I’m almost sure that some of the js calls on specific id’s, etc. What’s the plan for changing such dependencies if any?

cool smile

Scott,
Nope. It doesn’t.  I’ve been changing CSS div classes and id’s all week to add in my own stylesheet (and build in BluePrint CSS Framework) and I haven’t seen it affect any features. It should be truly MVC, and with that in mind you should be fine.

Kinda fun right?
