In British Columbia, Canada there is an Environmental Handling Fee for electronics.
Its a fixed amount depending on the item purchased.
How can I utilise Magento to add the EHF to an order.
BTW, sales taxes (GST and PST) are added to the EHF.
There is a magento solution for this as I am working on the same issue. EHFs ( electronic handling fees ). These must be applied according to province shipped and product sold.
The way to do this with Magento 18.104.22.168. is FPTs (fixed product taxes).
1. You have to create an attribute after that to enable the FPTs.
Catalog>Attributes>Manage Attributes. Create a new attribute assign it an attribute code.
Then under: Catalog Input Type for Store Owner> choose Fixed Product Tax. This will eliminate alot options.
Go to Manage Label Options and set a Name for your fee. Save
2. Now go to Catalog>Attributes>Manage Attribute Sets...go to the set you want the eco fee to apply eg \"monitors\". You should see in Unassigned Attributes - your new attribute. Add this to your Attributes Price category . Save
3. Now when you open / or create a new product under prices you will see Fixed Product Tax where you can assign to country and state/province.
