so I have php 5.1.6.
I get the message saying “Find out how to install Magento using PHP-CGI as a work-around.”
I cant seem to find any documentation on this. I did a few searches, no results for php-cgi.

Yes, the CGI version is independent of your regular PHP install so the version you have shouldn’t make any difference.

i was able to get my hosting company to upgrade me to 5.2.4
Everything installed great. thanks guys.
