I am currently using inmotion for my web hosting. Do I just have to upload all the files onto my server that i downloaded to start working with megento or what. Any help to get started with this would be great. thanks

Yes, should upload all files via FTP to your host and then go through the installation. More information about how to setup Magento can be found HERE.
