i am considering magento because of how many options there are with the connect and community. but a question has come up.

can magento store credit card data as part of the customers account ?
so that in future orders the payment option is able to be selected without re-entering card # and cvv code.

thanks
sam

Magento won’t really allow you to store full credit card information and CVV2 information, and this would most likely violate your credit card holder agreement with your payment processor.

But you can use a partial match / hash identifier to store an encrypted token, that can then be used for future purchases.  PayPal Pro and Authorize.net both have this functionality.

It does take a little bit of time to configure, though…
