I have also been getting Warnings on my site map for Google. It started occurring about 2-3 weeks ago. Sometimes it will go away, and then it will come back, and I am not making any changes to my site.

I do not know what the problem is, but I bet we are not the only ones having it?

I noticed it happens for products I have disabled sometimes? This may be a bug.

Hey

I am also getting the same issue. It seemed to appear just after upgrading to 1.2.1 for me. Any one got any ideas? Or has Google just changed, which wouldn’t be a surprise!

Thanks

Hmm looks likes it is has something to do with 1.2.1 indeed as far as I can remember before I didn’t had any problems. Any Magento guru who can clarify this?

I might have found the issue. As I was browsing my site map settings I noticed there was an extra option available which wasn’t available before. named: ‘Blog Post Options’
I do have installed the magento blog extension but did not know there were site map settings for it available. The settings where empty so I filled in the priority etc. 24h. later Google is all happy and I don’t have any warnings anymore!

Hi, I am having the same problem. So I just want to make sure of something....

The settings where empty so I filled in the priority etc. 24h.

Do you mean Blog Post Option should be set to: Frequency: Daily Priority: 0.24?

Not really sure what you mean by “priority etc. 24h”?

Thanks in advance for your help!

In priority section I entered “24h” and It did not work. Magento says “Valid values range from 0.0 to 1.0”

So I entered 0.24 and I am still getting the same error message:

Invalid tag value on line 2
This XML tag has an invalid value. Please fix it and resubmit.

Parent tag: url
Tag: changefreq

Problem detected on: Jul 30, 2009

Additionally I noticed the problem was detected on Jul 30, 2009. How do I re-submit the sitemap to Google to see if the error is gone?

If you click on Sitemaps under Site Configuration on the left (in Google) you should be presented with a checkbox list of sitemaps that you can select.  There’s a Resubmit button there.

Hope it helps!
John
