Exclude products from the search function

I’d like to know if it’s possible to exclude certain products from searches.

For example - we have a site in development that sells sporting goods. If you type “cap” into the search box - you get some relevant products and some that are completely wrong.

e.g. it is picking up the cap in the word landscape which is in the product description for a DVD. How I get Magento to exclude this product from the search as it is not relevant?

Thanks,

Andrew

When you create a new product, you can set the visibility:
- Nowhere.
- Search
- Catalog
- Catalog & Search

@Andrew: You might try one of the search modification modules on Magento Connect. It makes the searches much more relevant.

My fault.
