So i was just introduced to Magento through someone I met and man am I glad! I love it so far - great features and easy to use!

Or so I thought…

It all seems straight forward but for some reason the second I go to system configurations and set it up the way I’d like it to be.... all the pages disappear.

See for yourself at http://shop.athenasolivetree.com

If you click on anything it gives you an error. All you can see if the main page.

Before I set the configurations though it was workings.

Pls pls pls help me! I really really want to use magento but magento doesn’t seem to like me very much!

Thanks,
Rachel

Okay - I guess that I need to amend this....

I got it to work again by removing the web server rewrites option (set it back to no) under the SEO section in “web”.

Why doesn’t that work? Why can’t I enable that without the pages disapearing?

If it’s set to know does that mean that search engines won’t be able to regonize the site properly?

Thanks!
Rachel

Rachel,

1) Does your HOST may have mod_rewrite disabled?

2) After you enabled server rewrite did you try refreshing your cache and URLs in admin (Admin -> Cache Management -> (check all) -> Refresh from drop down, then Refresh Catalog Rewrites from the same place.

Hm… how woud I find out if the host has it disabled? I doubt they would.

I used simple scripts to install Magento if that helps.

Thanks so much!!

Who is your host?

If you check a phpinfo page it will show mod_rewrite as a loaded module.

Can you get to admin? (try yourdomain.com/magento/index.php/{admin path}

Did you try refresing your catalog rewrites in Admin?
