I have no desire to run multiple language stores, how do I delete these options?

The option to delete stores is not functional on many sites. It was reported through BugTracker. We’re waiting for a resolution.

You can easily delete the extra stores from the database and clean up the files manually in the folder structure.
I.e Remove…

fr (root)
de (root)

and the..
french
german

folders (I believe they are in both design area and skin)

You can go to Manage Stores page to Disable the store.

Go to your Admin page >> system >> configuration >> then find Manage Store Link
www. yourmagentosite .com/index.php/admin/system_store/

choose the Store you want to enable/disable and safe.
