PHP Extension “curl” must be loaded Help?

Hi can anybody help me please? I’ve been battling with this for ever now and give up! Each time i install it is coming up with the message PHP Extension “curl” must be loaded i have tried moving the curl.dll to the extension file but made no difference. What am i doing wrong?

you want the php-curl module, not curl itself - I made that mistake.

I can’t seem to find the module is it in php or extensions? I’m lost is it on my server or the actual magento files??

Its part of your server files, not a magento install. On a debian based server its installable by apt-get install php-curl (or something similar),.
