Hi All,

I just finishing installing Magento. The installation went smooth, but when I reviewed the functionality of the fresh installed demo store I faced the following error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8192 bytes) in /opt/lampp/htdocs/app/code/core/Mage/Core/functions.php on line 35

The error message was displayed on the product details page. See attached screenshot.

I expect that this error is related with to the web server setting.

System:
Ubuntu Server 7.04

XAMPP Linux 1.6.3b:
- Apache 2.2.4
- PHP 5.2.3
- MYSQL 5.0.45

Looking forward to your feedback.

Cheers,

Tobi

UPDATE: It seems that the error is displayed on all catalog pages.

Hi there… you need to edit php.ini to increase the max allowed memory. i think xampp by default has it set to 8M -

look for “memory_limit” in php.ini (xampp/apache/bin) and increase it to 32M

Then restart apache.

Cheers
Adam
