Can you use a MDC SSL Certificate with multiple stores sharing a backend?

Has anyone used or know if Magento would be compatible with a Multi-Domain Certificate (MDC) SSL (such as this:  https://comodosslstore.com/ev-ssl-mdc.aspx or this:  https://comodosslstore.com/comodo-mdc-ssl.aspx)?  This is different from a Wildcard SSL in that you can have several domains on a single SSL certificate vs a wildcard that only does subdomains.

I have www.store1.com and www.store2.com sharing a single installation of Magento.  I need both stores to have separate secure checkout.  I know you cannot have two separate SSL certificates, but would an MDC be a viable workaround?

Yes, you can use SAN/UCC certificates with Magento.
