Hey All!

I know we have the wiki, and the knowldge base as well as screencasts.

But I was wondering how you envisage documentation working, will it be 80% wiki or will there be formal documentation, do you have a rough roadmap for the documentation process? - who is responsible for documentation?

in the next couple of months -
documentation will be a joint community effort,
through the wiki.

after - we’ll gather all of it into formal documentation.
we’ll also supply end-user documentation manual, for store owners.

documentation roadmap will be published in next few weeks.

I know is coming, sorry for my impatiens, just thought i could squeeze a few explanations of the system out under this thread so we can then help contribute to the wiki once we get a better grasp of the system conceptually

I am struggling with the way its all put together ie
a simple explanation of what happens when Mage::run(’base’); is called ie:

variables are initialised, such as baseurl etc
verian object is initialised
layout is initilized, layout looks at xml files (1 default, then inilayouts,then calls blocks)
default layout is called from (cobfig.xml...in folder?)
if index then home is called via CMS else controller is called via requestURL -

i know its still only less than a week, but a simple explanation like that can go a far way in getting the rest of us up to speed with contributing to the wiki.

A simple question like this could be answered in seconds ->http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/304/ .... I still don�t know the answer

no pressure, just trying my luck at what i know is a very early preview stage
