I went all trough the website to find information on how to add a new store to magento installation, but here is shown only one example with subfolders of the main domain.

Here is my situation.

My Magento installation is on DomainA and from there I want to manage a store that should be on DomainB. I do all the steps for adding new website into my current magento installation on DomainA, but how to redirect the index.php from DomainB to DomainA?

What exactly do I have to change in the index.php om DomainB and what else should I do to make it work?

I just want to make also so, that when someone visits the DomainB, all the URL in the address bar show with this name, exactly the way it is in the demo magento-mall.

Please help,
thanks

thank you for your answer, but in this video there is no specific explanation on the exact question I have, what are the code lines that actually make the redirection from siteB to siteA..

Why do you even need to redirect people from A to B? Why not just use B in your ads, link building etc.

I have the installation on http://www.ourcorporatesite.com/path/to/install and only use that for admin back-end, I don’t have a shop on this domain.

This then powers 7 domains like http://www.shop1.tld http://www.shop2.tld etc. There’s no need for me to redirect because they wouldn’t be going to the installation domain in the first place.

I just don’t get what you want to redirect or why there’s even a need.

If you make the index.php like in the linked webinar, you’re all set. In your admin on domainA you simply make a new “Website” with code “domainB” and type this code into the index.php. No redirecting necessary.

There are two lines located in the index.php of all of your ‘non-main domains’:

1. The very last line of index.php will be change to something similar to this:

Mage::run(’storecodename’,’websitename’);

2.  Also in index.php adjust the path to your main domains Mage.php (if you have problems double check with your host that you know the right path for the website).

$mageFilename = ‘/var/www/vhosts/domain1.com/httpdocs/shop/app/Mage.php’;

I know that there are many posts about multi-sites and that it can get confusing.  Personally I believe that Crucial has put together the best explanation on the subject:
