Try to change memory in php.ini

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB)

You will want to increase the maximum memory amount php can use. I recommend 72MB.

Excuse me, but simply increasing php memory limit seems a _very_ unsatisfactory solution.

I have this exact same issue with magento, for pages with one or two thumbnails only, and 1 single session!!  ????

No other CMS framework seems to need this, including image galleries with very large numbers of images on a page, and multiple simultaneous users.

What’s the core issue here? Something wrong with the magento code - a huge memory leak , errant code?

If you band aid it by just increasing your php memory limit, you just *MAY* want to consider your server performance, better hope you never get more than one customer at a time I guess.

72MB to spew a basic page with 2 thumbnails and some text....THAT’S NOT REALLY ACCEPTABLE.

:( :( ::(

I am new to magento and installed through simple scripts on Bluehost, which I am on a dedicated server. I do not even have the cart set to live yet so there is no traffic...why am I getting this error?

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /home/mysite/public_html/mysite.com/catalog/lib/Zend/Currency.php on line 515

Any help would be appreciated.

Any update on this problem? Is it a ‘memory leak’ ?

Im testing the latest version of Magento (v.1.2.1.1) for a client who is thinking of switching to it. However, having installed the basic store I intermittently get similar ‘allowed memory exhausted’ errors whilst working in the backend.

Cheers
Simon

I just solved problems with Moneybookers and now this.

Completely fresh new install. One product added and puf:  gd2.php eat all memory. Even if you raise it up it still hangs so i do not think that there is memory problem. Maybe we should raise BUG on Magento pages to get it somebody for answer?

EDIT:
ok, i solved the problem with the image of a product in a way that i actually add image to that rpoduct smile

But so far i had memory leak on:
Product Tag
lib/Zend/Db/Select.php

Cart
app/code/core/Mage/Sales/Model/Quote/Address.php

Search for product
app/code/core/Mage/Catalog/Model/Product/Image.php

etc… i do not even mention that i can not test checkout step 2 because it stuck somewhere…

I bought Magento programming book. Already read all of it. Know basic things how it should work but i do not have any good feeling about this.

It all look to me that it is designed to have paid support or paid designer and partner to make it run at all. And i am so eager to learn this bloody Magento that i can not stop even if this looks like that…
