Hi,

I am trying to figure out if any of you are familiar with the idea? I have been looking into the idea of using Paas provider instead of Iaas for the promise of not having to do much regarding updating and maintenance of my shop with them. Additionally I kind of like the idea of pay as you go and auto scaling. I am however bit wary of the uncharted territory. so was just wondering if anyone could share their stories ideas? i found a list of Paas provider over http://www.paaslist.com/.

it currently shows http://relbit.com/ and https://pagodabox.com/ as the most interesting however was hoping some of you might already know them and give an idea of their performance. Relbit seems more price competitive and from their website much easier to understand.

Thanks,
Florian

Greetings:
[caveat] I work for OpenShift by Red Hat [/caveat]

You could also host it on OpenShift (https://openshift.redhat.com) . Here is a github quickstart for Magento - https://github.com/openshift/magento-example

Here is a forum thread where some people talk about installing it - please go to the end of the thread -

https://openshift.redhat.com/community/forums/openshift/magento-hosting

and here is a getting started page that can help you install the command line tools to get going:

https://openshift.redhat.com/community/get-started

Finally, here is a page with general resources for PHP devs.

https://openshift.redhat.com/community/developers/php

Thanks
Steve
