i am also on godaddy and my magento is seriously slow.

After reading this post, i knew it wasnt just me so i started doing some research and found that godaddy is just not good enough for magento. I cancelled my hosting with them and signed up with siteground.

they are really good! as soon as i ordred my hosting they rang me within 20 minutes and transferred all my magento store for me! database and all. you can live chat with them and when i open a ticket they answered within 5 minutes!

they say there servers are set up for magento.

My website now loads up within 3 seconds and thats without any tweeking. you can check it out http://www.theshirt.org

also its cheaper!

Hope this helps.

Hello,

There are plenty of articles on the Internet with hundreds of tips on how to speed up and improve your magento performance
Try to follow advice from these posts:
http://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/blog/42-magento/7840-how-to-improve-your-magento
http://www.gxjansen.com/101-ways-to-speed-up-your-magento-e-commerce-website/
http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/36225/

Good luck =)

Yer good advice.

Also install the Google Page speed toolbar, it will advise on what needs to be done.

*note - if you go down the routes of minifying CSS and Javascript, be sure to have a standard formatted backup

Shared hosting is horrible for Magento. I always recommend Mage Mojo and always will. They ONLY do Magento hosting. Those “fixes” will only get you so far.
